 Bilge Alarm Sensor
According to an article entitled 'How to Keep Your Boat From Sinking' by David M. Pascoe, a widely respected marine surveyor, 'Tens of thousands of boats of all types and sizes sink every year, most of them at their dock.' ... according to Captain Scott Thompson of Ocean Marine Services in his article 'Why Do Boats Sink', 'If you were to consider an opening as small as 2 inches in diameter, the size of most fathometer transducers, 3’ below the waterline the flow rate into the boat would be 136.1 gallons per minute or 7,896 gallons per hour! A boat equipped with three 2,000 gallon per hour bilge pumps would sink! Now if this vessel were equipped with a bilge alarm, it would be able to warn those on board (or ashore) of a problem and give them precious time to find and plug the hole that may have otherwise gone unnoticed until it was too late.' This system is to be used with the boat alarm MG44 and the new MG54.
